Satri House

Book

This was a beautiful hotel. The attention to detail was incredible and the breakfast was amazing. It felt like you were staying in a French Chateaux. An incredible building. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others travelling to Luang Prabang!- 29/09/2008, Ms. Louise Birch

Villa Chitdara

Book

Location: Old Quarter

This place is excellent and i would recommend anyone to stay here. LP is a small place, so everywhere is easily accessible by foot. Chitdara Villa is located off the main road (which is what you want - nice an quiet) yet is is a minutes walk to the night market and all the lovely restaurants and bars. The rooms are a decent size, lovely and cool air-con and great bathroom - very clean and staff are super friendly. Definatelt worth staying here for a really great price!- 13/08/2008, Mr. Christopher Smith

Very good service, nice people, all very clean/modern and perfect location (quite street, in central area and near Mekong river). Stay here! Un servicio perfecto, gente amabilisima, todo muy limpio/moderno y situacion perfecta (calle tranquila, en la zona del centro y muy cerca del rio Mekong). Tienes que hospedarte aqui! - 24/02/2008, Mr. SABATE ANTONI

Oui's Guesthouse

Book

Location: Old Quarter

From: USD 35.00

It was just what we wanted. Very peaceful and lovely setting overlooking the River Khan. The whole family were just wonderful and Oet's breakfasts were yummy. It was also great to be able to walk to the main street of Luang Prabang and to the Mekong (just around the corner) which we did several times. Staying for 8 nights at Oui's Guesthouse speaks for itself!! 2 bottles of water everyday, fresh towels and the other little extras were all appreciated.- 12/09/2008, Mrs. Judith Scarrott

There is nothing wrong and much that is right with Oui's Guesthouse. I have no other places in Luang Prabang to compare it to but would not hesitate to stay there again. I much enjoyed having a beer on the balcony overlooking the Nam Khan. - 22/07/2008, Mr. Jay Scarborough

Apsara Hotel and Restaurant

Book

Location: Old Quarter

From: USD 70.00

The staff at the Apsara were amazing. Mr. Ay the hotel manager and his staff were very welcoming and helpful. I arrived on the last day of the Lao New Year and Mr. Ay was waiting for me and made sure that I had a great stay from beginning to end. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and large with a lot of character. I fell in love with Luang Prabang - the town, the countryside and its people, and when I return it will definitely be to the Apsara hotel.- 25/04/2007, Mr. russell goldstein

Well placed for the main street, very friendly staff. Good restaurant. We enjoyed our stay.- 02/04/2007, Ms. Melanie Riley

Lao Spirit Resort

Book

Location: Outside of town

From: USD 65.00

Wonderful eco lodge and genuinely committed to sustainability. Very comfortable, bordering on luxurious , and a beautiful locale.Meals good local food and reasonably priced. Two significant complaints : location is more isolated than description suggests. Taxis at airport tried to charge US$70 for one way 25 minute drive. Lodge charges $30 one way, still vastly disproportionate to the cost of other services in the Laotian economy. In Cambodia that would cover a taxi and driver for 1-2 days. In Hanoi, an airport taxi costs $10-12 for a one hour journey. We refused to be overcharged and stayed put instead.Glad we did. Lesson learned :don't use the Resort as a jump off point to see Luang Prabang. Highly recommend the day hikes up the river. Other problem : incessant noise from unmuffled powered canoes that transport non-lodge tourists visiting the elephant camp across from the Lodge.. The landing spot is just below the lodge and the peace and tranquility of the lodge is constantly disrupted by the passing traffic. Moving the Tiger Trail tours 200 meters upstream would solve the problem.Or revert to eco tourism by requiring the 200 yards to be paddled, not motored. On this point only, someone has lost sight of the forest for the trees.- 30/03/2008, Mr. bruce mac intosh

A truly beautiful setting that I would love to return to. The views from the terraces were so tranquil & relaxing. Everyone tried to be helpful and I admired the way the local people had learnt to converse in English. Sometimes things featured in the information packs didn't always happen but when you look at what has been achieved in such a short time you can only admire the determination of the people who have created Lao Spirit Resort.- 27/02/2007, Ms. Barbara Thomson

Ancient Luang Prabang Hotel

Book

Location: Town Centre

From: USD 45.00

What a great view from the hotel balcony! The building is beautiful, the staff kind and helpful, and you can't beat the central location. Perfect access to the evening market, mt. Phousi, and a myriad of restaurants and tour possibilities. Our room was big with a lovely bathtub and nice big bed, and the cafe downstairs made good breakfast, though I don't recommend the cakes. We were pleasantly surprised and very impressed, and had a great stay!- 26/06/2008, Ms. Ariana Rundquist

The staff at the Ancient Hotel Luang Prabang were great, the hotel was a good deal for the price.- 01/06/2008, Mr. john mitchell

This is a delightful little guesthouse, like being in a Lao household and very convenient, very near river and city centre. Hot water was erratic but may have been partly due to me not understanding system. Would definitely stay there again.- 04/09/2008, Ms. Penny Wilcox
