Mr Anolong Thammavong, Owner / Manager

Mr Anolong, an architect, designed the transformation of his family's home in the late 1990s. Having already operated as a Guest House for several years, with the new 2 storey garden wing the property became a 25 room hotel, the classical reception building retaining its original spaciousness. "Very Quiet - away from the main tourist 'strip'. Laid back and rustic - but more than adequate."
Mr. Andrew More - United Kingdom on 22/08/2009
"Staff was unresponsive. The room was clean but the bathroom was not cleaned properly throughout our stay. I would not recommend this place. "
Mr. Andrew Ryder - Hong Kong on 02/01/2008
"The lady who runs the place is fantastic and the staff were very pleasant. The pillows were very uncomfortable, the toilet didn't flush very well, and the shower didn't work properly half the time. We got flea bites from the beds and the maids didn't seem to do much more than make the beds.

Apart from all this, we did enjoy our stay. The room was reasonably quiet and we felt secure. Everyone was really excellent with our small daughter which we appreciated, and the place has a lot of charm and decent location. We just felt that for the amenities provided that $40 a night was too pricey. We paid $18 a night for something very similar in Cambodia with a working bathroom!"
Ms. Tamara Cassels - Canada on 11/04/2007

Mrs. LIDE ZUBIA on 10/02/2007
"Very small and basic bathroom for the room price."
Mr. Jan Schauseil on 20/01/2007
"The hotel could not find any of our 2 confirmed reservations. They were quite helpless and unexperienced. Management made a not organized impression.
As hotel was fully booked, we had to search for another accommodation )in peak season!) paying a much higher price.
Asked WHL for a feedback but did not get any response yet."
Mr. Joerg Freischlag - Germany on 02/01/2007
"I cannot recommend this hotel. It looks so much nicer on the internet than it truly is. It is old, but could be beautiful if it was maintained. The pillows were the worst I have ever tried to sleep on. Bathrooms were just awful! The bathroom door did not even close properly, and these were the deluxe rooms! The staff were not helpful and did not even help with bringing our luggage down the stairs when we were leaving. The pickup from our next hotel helped us!! Breakfast was awful and the hotel is too far away to be called "downtown". A tuk tuk was necessary as we had 6 kids with us. This hotel was the disappointment of our holiday."
Mrs. Lesley Egbers - Australia on 19/07/2006
"The room was clean and spacious with big comfy beds (twin room). There was a good choice of TV channels, including films in English, so we could retreat for a rest when it got too hot outside. The garden was lovely. Breakfast was included, but the choice was limited and service not so good. Good standard of accommodation and good value."
Ms. Karen Burr - Thailand on 23/04/2006
"Very nice hotel. The staff were friendly, especially the wait staff. Had a little bit of confusion when it came time to pay the bill as we had requested a standard room and they had given us (and charged us for) a deluxe. We were able to work it out with management though. Also, they don't accept credit cards which was really annoying given the price."
Ms. Jennifer Kwan - Canada on 18/04/2006
