Vangsavath Hotel

Vangsavath Hotel is located just out of the center of Luang Prabang. Built in a traditional Lao style with French colonial influences, this elegantly decorated hotel is a lovely base for your exploration of Luang Prabang. Pon, the enthusiastic, young manager, is helpful and eager to ensure you enjoy your stay.

There are two different types of rooms, both of which are moderately priced and spacious. The boutique rooms, newly built in 2010, are well worth the upgrade. New, with modern bathroom fixtures, large bathtub and full vanity, the rooms still maintain Lao charm with dark wood furniture, carved wooden ornaments and woven textiles. The boutique rooms also face the hotel’s pretty tropical garden and have their own patio and seating.

Standard rooms are basic but adequate. Designed to be comfortable, the standard rooms have wood floors, A/C, and extras such as television and fridge.

A made-to-order breakfast is included and is served in the large open-air terrace/restaurant at the back. A balcony on the second floor or the garden is a great place to relax and unwind.

The Vangsavath Hotel is situated in a quieter area of town. It is a leisurely 10-minute bike ride straight down the street to the main centre or 2-minutes by tuk-tuk. On route is Phosy Market, the main local produce and meat market. Stroll through for fantastic photography opportunities and the chance to learn about Lao ingredients.
