The Grand
Sustainability
The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel and Resort was opened in April 2001. The Hotel was created around the private residence of Prince Phetsarath, a prime minister of Luang Prabang in the early 20th century during the colonial era. The Prince maintained many links with Thailand, which have continued in creating the Grand Hotel. In the management and standards of excellence of the Grand Hotel, the regional links have been strengthened, while emphasizing the unique history and culture of Luang Prabang. The Deputy General Manager, Mr Suthep Ratree, and the superbly trained multilingual staff, specialize in welcoming guests to the Grand with the genuine warmth of those who wish guests to see the best of their home and region, in both service and culture. The King's Museum, in Prince Phetsarath's palace grounds, displays fascinating historical artifacts illustrating the history of Luang Prabang and the Royal Court.
