The Grand Hotel offers impeccable comfort and luxury in traditional Lao and colonial era style. The Grand Hotel opened in early 2001, built to complement the original heritage buildings in the extensive grounds and gardens of the private residence of the Lao nationalist Prince Phetsarath. Lily ponds and canals stud the lawns which surround the 2-storey guest buildings. The architecture has been designed to complement the green and airy surroundings, opening onto the magnificent Mekong River. With its peaceful location around 4km from the city centre and 6km from the airport, guests can easily spend time in the historic town centre and beside the Mekong River. A frequent van and boat service shuttles guests to the historic Wat Xieng Thong in the heart of Luang Prabang.
