Promotion of local cuisine and culture

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

Tamarind was established to promote greater understanding of Laos through the serving of the country's unique cuisine and interpretation of Lao culinary customs. We do this by running a restaurant, staging events, selling local food products and educating diners through our information packed menus and personal explanations of the dishes we serve.  This cooking course is a great extension of our activities and allows our guests a more intimate introduction into Lao cuisine.
