Touring northern Laos gives you the opportunity to visit far off places rarely visited by travellers on Laos' borders between China and Vietnam. These cross cultural experiences are a special way to learn and understand more about minorities peoples where communities are still living according to traditional lifestyles.

Secrets of the North is operated by Tiger Trail Outdoor Adventures. Tiger Trail is part of the Fair Trek community based tourism project and thereby follows the guidelines of eco-tourism as defined by international organisations and the national government. This co-operative effort in conjunction with Lao people places local employment and alternative livelihoods as a high priority. A portion of Tiger Trail's earnings is invested directly into communities in their tour area. Tiger Trail has developed a reputation for providing employment locally, investing in training its staff, using local products and caring for the local wildlife.
