"OK"
Mr. Alastair Carnegie - Australia on 02/04/2009
"The hotel was so so. We were at first not given the room we were promised during booking - ie on the river facing upper floor. Later when we asked, they then changed the room for us. Otherwise, service is passable for a small set-up of this price range. We cannot expect more.

The booking agency, on the other hand, was excellent. Miss Phansee took the trouble to email me to confirm the booking, ensuring that I would get the river facing room. And later when we changed travel dates, she was equally efficient in amending the booking. And the airport pick-up was all well and properly arranged. 5 ***** !!"
Mr. WAI KIN CHAN - Singapore on 07/10/2008
"L.P. is one of nicest place I have been in Asia. Its charm is unique."
Mr. Ricardo eugenio Faroni Dallapicula - Italy on 14/09/2008
"I enjoyed the peace and quiet and privacy that place afforded. However, my impression was that I had booked a Mokong View room, and I had the impression that a balcony was involved. Well, there was a balcony, but it was on the frst floor, more like a...small porch. It was pleasant enough that I did not complain, but if I had it to do again, I would specify that I would like a second floor room, and probably one in the first building since the desk staff there seemed to be much more informed than the kind and did-their-best (and often consulted with the first building) staff in the second roadside building.
But would I stay there again? Absolutely!"
Ms. Sandra Engel - United States on 22/07/2008

Traveller Comments:
"The staff at Sala Luang Prabang are welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are nicely designed, comfortable and very clean. Being right on the water was fantastic, there are so many great restaurants right out the door and the provided breakfast was very tasty too with a large range of foods. The overall experience at Sala was very positive, we would definitely stay there again."
Ms. Rebecca Linehan - Australia on 12/02/2010
"It was really a very nice little hotel that we enjoyed a lot to stay there!"
Mr. Reinhold Wrana - Germany on 16/01/2010
"I got one of the best rooms, river view. It was excellent. However, I am told that other rooms are less appreciated, but that's second hand opinions."
Mr. Philippe Gay - Canada on 21/08/2009
"We were well looked after by the very helpful staff who organized a helpful tuk-tuk driver for us plus allowed us use of the internet. The breakfast was in a wonderful setting as is the hotel which we will be pleased to recommend to others."
Mr. Alastair Carnegie - Australia on 02/04/2009
"The hotel is nice if you take a river view room. The rooms are clean and fresh.AC works perfectly.... but the breakfat was very sad and poor. I believe it is the worst breakfast we had in Asia so far."
Mr. Ricardo eugenio Faroni Dallapicula - Italy on 14/09/2008
"Very tasteful place with staff who were helpful."
Ms. Sandra Engel - United States on 22/07/2008
"Nice hotel and location in the quite end and close to the river. The room is nice, but a bit pricy compare to many other hotels, guest houses next to where it's half the price. Breakfast can be improved as it is very limited. Overall service is fine."
Mr. Per Asmussen - Denmark on 22/07/2008
"Very clean, comfortable, and well-designed. Staff were friendly and helpful. A great retreat from the Lao heat."
Mr. Bruce Boehrer - United States on 04/07/2008
"Beautiful location."
Ms. Linda Reid - United States on 28/05/2008
"the room is small and a bit run down."
Ms. Yuen Ling Ki - Hong Kong on 02/04/2008
"overall, the hotel was okay. we had a mekong-view room on the ground floor. the only complaint i had was the insects that appeared in the room at night, including huge spiders and cockroaches. noted that there were trees and shrubs outside and around the hotel, which could be the reason for the bugs in the hotel. just the idea that i could be sleeping next to a spider was really unnerving."
Ms. ee ching tan - Singapore on 27/03/2008
"Super location in a charming build?ng and the most amazing breakfasts."
Mr. David R Woodward - United States on 20/03/2008
"charming place, with nice atmosphere in rooms, however the facilities and amenities are not on hotel standard and thus overpriced. Cleanliness could be better, especially in the bathroom.
Rooms need be upgraded with Wardrobe, including safe as a minimum. Also phone, minibar and room can be expected for this price level."
Mr. Bernhard Mueller - Malaysia on 05/03/2007
"No comment submitted"
Mr. Paolo Busuoli - Italy on 23/02/2007
"Cleanliness---needs a little paint in places in room.

We stayed in two rooms. Lot of variability between the two. This is a neutral comment, not a criticism."
Mr. Thomas McAuliff - Vietnam on 22/02/2007

Ms. annette thompson - United Kingdom on 23/01/2007

Mr. Gregory Gasiorek - Japan on 13/01/2007
"The 3 bedded room for 3 of my travel companions was quite expensive (USD$100/night) compared with other LPB hotels. The room was close to the street and extremely noisy (from street noise) so they had difficulty sleeping every night. They would not recommend the Salang Prabang again."
Mr. John Watson - Australia on 27/12/2006
"Very stylish collection of restored colonial buildings. Minimalist room (minimal clothes hanging, nowhere to put bags, 1 chair, no TV or phone) but great look and feel. High price for what offered."
Mr. John Rosser - Australia on 28/11/2006
"Rooms are very small and minimalist-no shelving etc for clothes.Nice atmosphere and the General Manager is very helpful."
Ms. Catherine Gregan - Australia on 07/11/2006
"The hotel is charming and staff very helpful. Position by the river is great and the breakfast terrace is lovely . However we stayed there at a time of renovation during the so called "low season" but the prices were the same as any time - ie high season/no renovations going on. Other similar hotels seemed to be much better value."
Ms. Jennie Lloyd - Australia on 02/10/2006
"Paid $60 for a Mekong room but was out of the main building - it was low season and there was extensive renovations going on. While I think the hotel is lovely and the staff are great I saw other guest houses along the same street that provided better value for money and almost as nice decor... I think your rate - especially in the low season and in the middle of repairs- is too high."
Ms. Jodie McAlister - Thailand on 21/09/2006
"Construction was a bit disturbing, and we had no hot water in the shower for a day, but all in all, a sweet little place."
Mrs. Kathleen Fowler - United States on 07/07/2006
"Lovely hotel in a very pretty setting central to all activities . Staff very helpful and service excellent."
Mrs. Margaret Boatman - United Kingdom on 23/04/2006
"Positive: Friendly staff, clean facilities, excellent location, good breakfast.
Negative: Forgot to pick me up at the airport, hot water ran out."
Mr. Charl Durand - South Africa on 07/04/2006
"The staff at Sala Luang Prabang were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact our stay coincided with our wedding anniversary and they arranged intertwined hearts on our bed made of over 100 flowers, which was a great surprise and helped make our stay really special. This is just one example of how they went the extra mile to make staying there special."
Mr. BRETT WILLIAMS - Australia on 29/03/2006
"Sala Luang Prabang is a lovely boutique hotel. Good location and a nice atmosphere. We had a mekong view room, however not in the main building. Simple buffet breakfast was served along Mekong river. We dined one time at Sala, however, quite expensive compared to other places; quality o.k. but not really special. We found room rates slightly overpriced."
Mrs. Lineke van Nederpelt - Singapore on 05/01/2006
