Gliding effortlessly across currents and passed pristine forests, the Luang Say boat is a purpose-built 34 metre luxury river barge, a stylish replica of the journey craft famous to these waters. Long scenic stretches of breezy, sun soaked river cruising are punctuated by visits to river-side hill tribe villages and the magical Tham Thing Caves of a Thousand Buddhas. In between the two days on the river, the Luang Say Lodge at Pakbeng offers a charming and serene riverside stay, a perfect romantic interlude in this unspoiled wilderness setting.

Day 1: Huay Xai - Pakbeng
The Luang Say boat departs from Huay Xai at 9am for a cruise down the Mekong River to Pak Beng. A stop is made along the way to visit and admire the authentic rural life of hill tribe settlements. A delicious buffet lunch is served on board. The boat will arrive at the Luang Say Lodge in plenty of time for you to catch the spectacular sunset. Dinner is served on the terrace overlooking the Mekong River.
Day 2: Pakbeng - Huay Xai
Breakfast is served on the terrace around 7:30am. After breakfast we have the option of visiting the morning market where the nearby villagers buy and exchange their goods. The boat departs at 8:30am as we make our way to the World Heritage town of Luang Prabang. Lunch is served on board and we stop to at a small village to observe the traditional process of making local rice wine. Upon arrival at Pak Ou village at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, we stop to visit Tham Ting Caves (The Cave of a Thousand Buddhas). We arrive in Luang Prabang shortly before sunset.
