Description: The beautifully built bungalows are set on stilts on the steep sided riverbank. They are high-ceilinged, made in stone and old wooden pillars with wooden floors, walls and shutters, and are naturally air cooled by vents and a fan. Each bungalow, with a huge bedroom is individually furnished in wood or bamboo, with crisp linens, attractive Lao woven textiles, natural silk and paper lamps and coloured glass side lights for atmospheric and subdued lighting. Floor length glass sliding doors along the entire front of the room open onto the terrace, giving maximum light and a spectacular view of the hills from the large, comfortable beds. The huge terrace running along the front of every bungalow is a relaxing seating area. A desk overlooking the river is an ideal spot to pretend to work. Tiles and stone finished bathrooms with substantial ceramic fittings continue the early 20th century feel. Bathrooms have stained glass window panels and a bathtub with a stunning view. A separate stone walled roofless shower area is ideal for starry night or sunny showers. This is true modern luxury in colonial era style. No telephones or televisions in the bungalows disturb the peace - it is just yourself, the view and the sounds of the forest and river.
