Traveller Comments:
"Very charming hotel, cozy, confortable, good location. I would come back again!!!!"
Mr. Frederico O. - Brazil on 23/01/2010
"Accommodation is in a good location, with nice and friendly staff. The room is a little dark, though has character. Quite happily stay there again in the future."
Mr. Naciketa D. - United Kingdom on 22/01/2010
"It is cozy, comfortable, friendly and well-located guest house. Staff are very kind to support us, first time stay in LP. We will come back there when we go to LP again. Thanks."
Mr. Tsuyoshi F. - Japan on 29/12/2009
"The hotel was clean, quiet and a very comfortable place to stay. The staff had a little trouble communicating in English and were hard to track down at times, but the guest house had a lot of charm and was in a great location. I would definitely recommend it to others."
Ms. Christy C. - United States on 24/09/2009
"overall am happy with Ban Pan Luck, however there are few disturbing things as following:
- funny noises going on from the bath room at night which unless am in such a good mood (as i was that day, discovering luang prabang), will be a complete annoyance.
- water pressure is really bad."
Ms. Christina A. - Indonesia on 13/07/2009
"The hotel showed well from the outside. The rooms were fairly good except the lower floor superior room was not in very good condition. The floors were old wooden floor boards with gaps to the dirt below and the bathroom had a problem with the sewer and smelled so bad we had to find another guest house. The bathroom in this room is in a bit of disrepair and needs renovations. The staff are just learning English. Location somewhat noisy. The owner was helpful when we had to move locations and apologetic."
Mr. Neil B. - Canada on 14/01/2009
"The location is very good. The front desk staff are super friendly. However, they do not speak much English, so don't depend on them for local tour advice, etc.

ALSO: Do not use room 5. It has no daylight or fresh air. The one window opens up into an enclosed, covered staff area and a wall (no view, no sky). Even with the window open, the room is very dark. At night the staff area has a bright florescent light glowing, so you can't open the window for fresh air. During the day, they cook and have loud conversations in the staff area, so again, you can't open the window for light or air. I was there for 5 days and was not happy about this room."
Mr. Thomas R. - United States on 26/12/2008
"One of the main problems of this hotel is that most of the staff do not speak English. The other one is noise especially in room 006 as there are only wooden screens and fly screens, no windows. The outside wall is partially made from wooden panels, so it's cold as well in winter. The shower in this room was not working son we called the receptionist who after 5 hours finally did nothing. The night clerk then got somebody in to fix it so we could have a shower. Room 004 is definitely better, but very small. One towel only indicates that it is meant for a single traveler. Breakfast is poor. The gym is nowhere near the hotel and is not included. With US $ 40 per night for the small room and $50 or more for the other rooms is clearly overpriced. My recommendation is:stay away and look for something different. There is so much to choose from in LP!"
Mr. Stefan L. - New Zealand on 18/12/2008
"We booked a standard room, which although clean & nice, was very, very small. The room was really the size for a single, not double.
Breakfast very nice but slow in arriving, at 8.00am on our last morning breakfast still not ready.
Staff nice & friendly but no management on site to sort out any problems.

Elaine & Alan Freeman, New Zealand. November 2008"
Mr. Alan F. - New Zealand on 11/12/2008
"Lovely attractive little place in a beautiful position, close to everything, the Meekong, restaurants, shops, night market etc, yet in a quiet street."
Mrs. Elizabeth H. - Australia on 06/10/2008
"Ban Pack Luck is sophisticated and thoughtful in its design. The experience was relaxing and positive. I wanted to stay longer. One appreciates it more when one leaves; that is a sign of excellence!"
Ms. Michelle L. - Canada on 02/08/2008
"Excellent location near Mekong and main street.
Upstairs room with balcony very comfortable."
Mr. Neil M. - Australia on 24/07/2008
"Beautiful and wonderful place - small villa, well located with wonderful staff. Great experience!"
Mr. Michael L. - Canada on 09/06/2008
"The deluxe rooms were charming, clean and comfortable, but the service was lacking and English was minimal. The water pressure is almost non-existent, but the location was great. Near everything, but still on a quiet side street. The fitness centre advertised was not free and wireless was not available. "
Mrs. Emily G. - Canada on 23/04/2008
"Reserved two rooms at the Ban Pack Luck Villa. The ground floor unit no 6 was great however the other front upstairs units air conditioning did not work and I don't think it had been working for some time. Had to move around the corner to another room at a villa. Suggest more supervision of staff so the quality does not drop.

"The guest house is really charming and well located. We could even see the morning parade of monks from our window. Because the "hotel" is so small it is not really professionally managed.
They tried to get us to move to a first floor room for our final night (apparently they had over booked); we refused to move. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS AGREE TO A FIRST FLOOR ROOM, but all the second floor rooms appear charming, clean, etc. We loved Luang Prabang, as did everyone we met there. It was truly the highlight of our Asian trip."
Mrs. Joyce W. - United States on 15/03/2008
"This was an excellent guesthouse. Very charming and in a great location."
Ms. Chioma U. - Canada on 23/02/2008
"I really liked the Guest house I stayed in. Great location - just a bit noisy at night as it is opposite a popular restuarant, but it didn't stop me sleeping. Lovely room."
Ms. Lynda B. - Australia on 15/02/2008
"This cozy villa is ideally located near the Wat Nong, and not far from Wat Xian Thong (both beautiful temples) , minutes' walk from both river banks (Meikong and Nam Kham). The only thing that need to be improved is the water supply, especially when one tried to run the hot water for shower or bath. The water heater did not heat up the water.
During the night, expect noise from the crowd across the street who dined in Cafe Elephant. I would recommand this villa to anyone who considers the location and budget."
Mr. Baldwin C. R. H. - Taiwan on 12/02/2008
"We paid for 3 nights but they didn't have a room for the first night and we haven't gotten our money back, also the air conditioning didn't work."
Mr. David W. - United States on 06/02/2008
"There is no pick-up at the Airport as promised ( payment already made earlier ) so therefore, there's no welcome for us.
This is the 2nd experience I had since visiting Laos. The 1st time it happened was at Vientiane where I had to forked out USD6.00 for the trip from Airport to Hotel InterCity.
Other than that , we enjoyed our trip very much and are considering to return to LP soon."
Mr. Yeow Sin C. - Malaysia on 13/12/2007
"Fantastic location, close to the river and to town, for anything you could possibly need. Fantastic, attentive staff. A great choice in LP."
Mr. Chris F. - New Zealand on 04/12/2007
"We had confirmed reservation for 2 deluxe rooms -- but only one room had been reserved -- so we had to take a smaller room with an open shower that wets the entire bathroom. staff wanted one of us to move out the next day as the second room had been reserved. When the owner finally got involved we did get another room in a nearby guesthouse, and had free drinks with owner and his friends at the Pack Luck Wine bar. "
Ms. Patricia S B. - United States on 28/11/2007
"The appearances from the outside (ie. bed in the foyer) is slightly deceiving, as the actual rooms are alot plainer in decor. That said, the rooms are tastefully decorated, if a tad on the small side. It is a convenient location and great for watching the 'alms-giving' in the morning from an unobtrusive spot."
Ms. Janice L. on 10/10/2007
"The staff were young and capable and seemed just plain excited to answer any questions or provide services. I stayed two nights then went trekking and left my backpack behind; upon my return four days later they not only knew exactly who I was the moment I walked in, but they had already moved the backpack into my room. After two more nights I checked out but as my flight was late in the afternoon I spent the day hiking in the area, and when I returned to the hotel to get my bags the staff didn't hesitate to open an unoccupied room for me so I could change clothes and freshen up."
Mr. Adam S. - Canada on 30/08/2007
"Hot water was out for the TWO days that we stayed - well over priced for what you could get elsewhere.

The staff are great though"
Mr. James B. - Japan on 16/08/2007
"Cean and comfortable guest house, great position, but the day time staff were not particularly friendly."
Mrs. Anne H. - Malaysia on 03/08/2007
"No comment submitted"
Mrs. Giuseppa T. - United Kingdom on 20/07/2007
"The room is small/tiny, although it is has its own charm. Can hardly have any space for 2 person to move around. We got Room 5, and it is dark even with broad daylight. There was a power trip and it took them almost 1 hour to reset the circuit breaker. Moreover, the hotel reception was cold when we first check. they need to brushed up their customer service skill.

Would not stay there again."
Mr. Bo Gee Ching, L. - Singapore on 24/03/2007
"Room was very small - cleanish. The bathroom is quite dark.
Not properly organised as we had to ask for toilet rolls and shower gel during our 3 day stay at Ban Luch. Some of the staff do not understand English.
Was a little disappointed with the room and overall though not fantastic was passable."
